About the Moderator
My perspective as a queer, BIPOC female with a white lived experience, has placed me in a variety of situations that has provided me with the ability to engage in meaningful conversations with many humans. I believe it is through conversation, both holding space and using active listening, is the sacred process in which wisdom of other’s lived experiences and knowledge can be shared. As Lao Tzu remarked, “The more you know, the less you understand.”
I am a co-founder of the for-purpose organization The Wildflower Collective, focusing on supporting Central Valley’s marginalized communities through harm reduction, outreach, advocacy, housing and other mental health supports. Combining my experience in supply chain management, special education and behavior science, I plan to engage in transformative justice, transdisciplinary collaborations and trauma informed care. I am passionate about using behavior science as a way to positively impact public health, substance use and education.
Growing up on Long Island, NY, I was very active with my church family at First Presbyterian Church of Southampton, NY. As I began traveling and experiencing new cultures and traditions, it provided me with even greater insight of the many different ways individuals gather to practice both religion and spirituality. Now I am on a journey of spiritual enlightenment learning from Indigenous religions, African religions, Transpersonal Psychology, Buddhism and Headlessness. It has been expanding to be able to continue such work, here in Fresno and continue to build new relationships and meet at the intersection of interfaith work and social justice.
